It’s more likely that the picture is staged, however, and the woman is an actress advertising her skills. Victorian Wars: Star Wars Characters As You’ve Never Seen Them Before

These artworks by Canadian illustrator Terry Fan, take some of the most popular characters from the original trilogy of Star Wars movies and give them a steampunk twist.

Some of the characters’ titles are translated to their real-world equivalents, while others receive new positions that still make sense. The protocol droid C-3PO becomes a baron, fitting for his dapper demeanor. Meanwhile the 900-year-old Jedi Master Yoda becomes a “Sir”, the title used for knighthood. Lord Vader barely even needs a name change, since he’s already a Sith lord. Also featuring are Boba Fett as a general, Chewbacca as a chancellor, a Stormtrooper as a sergeant and R2D2 as a Duke.

By splitting his subjects’ style choices and physical appearances straight down the middle of their portraits, the photographer presents a before and after composite image that shows us two timelines—one of the addict (on the right) and one of the non-user who still has the choice to change his or her fate.

Methamphetamine Addiction. Before and After.


Methamphetamine, also known as metamfetamin, meth, ice, speed, crystal, glass, tik, N-methylamphetamine, methylamphetamine, and desoxyephedrine, is a psychostimulant of the phenethylamine and amphetamine class of psychoactive drugs. Methamphetamine is highly addictive. While the withdrawal itself may not be dangerous, withdrawal symptoms are common with heavy use and relapse is common.

Methamphetamine-induced hyperstimulation of pleasure pathways can lead to anhedonia months after use has been discontinued. Investigation of treatments targeting dopamine signalling such as bupropion, or psychological treatments that raise hedonic tone, such as behavioral activation therapy, have been suggested.
