“I really take a lot of photographs” says Gueorgui Pinkhassov. “But I only show the ones that suddenly speak to me; that come alive when I look at them.”
Gueorgui Pinkhassov was born in Moscow in 1952. As a Russian who acquired French citizenship, Pinkhassov has lived in Paris for many years. Pinkhassov became interested in photography at the end of secondary school. He studied at the VGIK Moscow Institute of Cinematography from 1969 to 1971 and then worked in the Mosfilm studios in the cameraman team before becoming a set photographer. Continue reading »

The images taken by wildlife photographer Hendy Lie in the lush surroundings of his home in Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia look like something out of a fantasy novel: a playful frog which seems to mimic a rodeo cowboy riding the back of a black beetle. Photographer Michael Massaia Captures Haunting Images Of Central Park When No One Is Around
During his mid 20s, Michael Massaia developed a terrible case of insomnia. In order to give himself a break from sitting around all night “staring at the walls,” he began to go on long walks. Massaia grew up in New Jersey but became enamored with New York City during his late-night strolls, when the city was less congested and fewer people were around. Thankfully, the self-taught photographer took his camera along, creating the series “Deep in a Dream, Central Park.”
Massaia worked a series of “crappy” jobs, including stints in movie theaters and warehouses, before finding photography. Continue reading »

Curious Fox Strikes Up Unlikely Friendship With Polish Photographer
Netizens were left awestruck after a batch of stunning photos was released on the web, showcasing a fox’s close bond with a young photographer named Iza Łysoń in Krakow, Poland. Since 2003, Australian photographer Murray Fredericks has made at least twenty journeys to the center of Lake Eyre, a desert lake with an extremely high concentration of salt. Fredericks drags all of his equipment out into the barren landscape, capturing the dramatic sky reflected in both the inch-deep water and his rectangular mirror. This photo captures the moment that I, along with 3 other Sami reindeer herders become a little lost while migrating with 350 reindeer. They were rounded up from a section of forest around 30kms south of this point. Our goal was to take them, via rivers, northwards to pastures new using the network of rivers and lakes that flow through Sweden. This was taken on Randijaur lake, Jokkmokk, Sweden. The photographer’s cat, Ryska – her name means little lynx in Russian – stands outside their cabin and with aggressive posturing warns off a fox. In winter, foxes would regularly visit the cabin searching for food. If one peered in at the window, possible when the snow was deep, Ryska would sit on the other side, fur raised, and growl.
