Francesca Lombardi And Giacomo Favilla Present Stunning Doily Masks Portraits
Italian multi-disciplinary designer Francesca Lombardi presents ‘Doily’. A creative series of masks, each is composed of a single crocheted doily. By re-contextualizing the commonplace object, it can be seen as the perfect adornment for the human face.
The fabric becomes a three-dimensional statement, each pattern serving as a decorative element not unlike any accessory. Photographer Giacomo Favilla, documents ‘doily’ in portrait fashion — invoking images of an alternate, but familiar reality.
