The Quiet Beauty of Small Towns: Superb Landscapes and Collages by Clover Robin
Clover Robin is a British artist, crafter and designer who creates small and pretty towns. Her works most often with collages, but he doesn’t shy away from watercolors and gouache either – Robin’s paintings are charming in their simplicity and have a therapeutic effect.
“I studied Surface Pattern Design at Leeds College of Art and Design before completing a Masters in Future Textile Design at Central Saint Martins, which cemented my passion for a more craft based approach to art and design.
I went on to complete a number of internships and part time jobs specializing in print and pattern and quickly realised I wanted to create artwork on my own terms rather than based on what the trends predicted.
Drawing on the skills and experience I had gained from the previous years working and studying coupled with a more intuitive and spontaneous approach, I began to produce artwork that aligned with my passion for storytelling and nature. Tactile artwork created by hand, using a mixture of cut paper collage, painting, printing and hand drawing.
I now enjoy applying my technique to multiple projects. Working together with like minded businesses, organisations and people to create high quality, handcrafted illustrations for branding, editorial, fashion and publishing,” she writes.
