The NN, which debuted at the 1924 Mondial de l’Automobile in Paris, replaced the Types KJ and MT as the standard French automobile of the 1920s and 1930s. This specific model, which is widely used as taxis in towns and cities across the country, is thought to have started out as a Paris taxi.

Renault used a flywheel with vanes to cool the air and positioned the radiator behind the engine for their models between 1904 and 1930. This creative method made it possible to create a smoother and more attractive bonnet design. The early Renaults had a distinctly Art Deco look thanks to their “coal scuttle” bonnets, which had twin radiators on either side of the engine.
