Tech Experiment vs Nature: Incredible Photos of Eagles Attacking Drones

In 2016, the Dutch police, together with the company Guard From Above, trained eagles to intercept drones in the air, testing whether predatory birds could be turned into a living air defense system.

The eagles proved to be accurate and strong enough to snatch devices out of the sky without harming themselves. The project was eventually shut down due to concerns for the safety of the birds, but images of eagles carrying quadcopters in their talons became viral internet symbols of nature’s superiority over technology.
