The Illustrator Turning City Landmarks And Music Culture Into Collectible Visual Art

Ryan Johnson is a Brooklyn-based illustrator represented by Levy Creative, whose practice spans editorial illustration, music posters, sports imagery, and architectural cityscapes. He works across watercolor, pastels, and pencil, layering traditional media to create textures that feel alive and unexpected.

Johnson’s portfolio shows remarkable range: he has produced tour posters for Khruangbin celebrating cities like Melbourne, Charleston, and Antwerp; created editorial sets for Nike explaining volleyball positions and basketball energy; and developed a lino-style print collection of iconic UK buildings and monuments. His work has been recognized by American Illustration, and he recently illustrated a book titled “City Words”.
