This Pop-Art Pool Is A Shining Example Of Designer Richard Woods’ Artistic Vision
The pool is a part of the barn’s Living With Art installation; it’s fully swimmable and is a shining example of Woods’ ability to balance form and function in a truly inspiring way. The “wood” tiles are a caricature of traditional wood planking with their exaggerated grain and pops of primary colors. The geometry of the pool adds to the fun house aspect of it; the colorful tiles under the turquoise water makes the shallow-to-deep undulation more pronounced and visually interesting. Unbelievable Macro Shots Taken Inside Instruments By The Romanian Artist Adrian Borda
Adrian Borda is an artist and photographer from Reghin, Romania. Inspired by an old print campaign for the Berlin Philharmonic, Borda managed to take a fascinating series of photos from the insides of old instruments like a cello and contrabass. To achieve these shots, Borda fit a Sony NEX-6 camera equipped with a Samyang 8mm fisheye lens inside the instrument and then used a smart remote so he could preview the workflow on his phone. Bertien van Manen is a Dutch photographer who makes primarily environmental portraiture and works in the photobook format. She uses an inexpensive snapshot camera to take photos of people she meets as she feels that these cameras allow her subjects to consider “me as a tourist or friend, who liked to take pictures.” She has photographed extensively in China and the former Soviet Union.
