Roy James, 72, from the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, started to build his railway in 1990. It started off small but that “one thing lead to another” and now his collection features more than 100 trains and 400 coaches and wagons. Amazing Wooden VW Beetle Made By Bosnian Pensioner
A Bosnian pensioner has made a wooden Volkswagen Beetle. Momir Bojić, 71, created the car from over 50,000 separate pieces of oak. The avid VW Beetle fan worked on his labour of love for more than two years. He covered the bodywork of a regular Beetle in thousands of oak tiles, each one of which required no fewer than 23 separate procedures. Mr Bojic made all of the wooden fittings – steering wheel, gearstick, hubcaps, radio – in his garden workshop. The car is perfectly roadworthy, and Mr Bojić says its draws crowds wherever it goes. Snoop Dogg has released T-shirts and accessories featuring Belarusian embroidery patterns and professing the U.S. rapper’s “love” for Belarus. The items were designed by HoodGraff, a group of street artists from the Belarusian city of Vitebsk. The artists chose to relocate to Russia earlier this year after being fined $1,700, a substantial sum in Belarus. Their offense: attempting to paint a mural of the late, internationally acclaimed Belarusian writer Vasil Bykov, a vocal critic of Lukashenka, during a street-art festival in Minsk. Amazing Images Reveal How the Exclusion Zone Around Fukushima Has Been Abandoned to Become an Overgrown Wilderness
A stunning new photo project offers unprecedented insight into the wild and desolate exclusion zone surrounding the Fukushima nuclear power plant – where tonnes of contaminated soil lie untouched and overgrown forest is engulfing hundreds of abandoned vehicles and homes.
The 12.5-mile exclusion zone around the nuclear plant now resembles post-apocalyptic scenes from The Walking Dead after it was instantly abandoned following the 2011 nuclear disaster.
People deserted the area after warnings of dangerous levels of radioactivity, leaving cars, classrooms and libraries to be swallowed by the overgrown wilderness in stark scenes reminiscent of those seen in the show, in which entire towns have been left in stasis after zombies overran the earth.

Amazing Pictures of New York City in the early 1980s
NYC in the late 1970s and early 80s could best be described using Charles Dickens’ phrase “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” Meryl Meisler’s photographs documented it with compassion and humor. As the city neared bankruptcy, crime rates rose, epidemics of arson and crack made the Big Apple seem like it was rotting to the core. In the midst of it all, a scintillating groundbreaking disco nightlife culture arose. Crossing the most exclusive clubs’ velvet gates, Meryl danced and photographed with her medium format camera.
