The international festival of photojournalism, Visa Pour l’Image, returns from 29 August 2020. This year, the festival welcomes visitors from around the world online, for a series of virtual exhibitions, roundtable discussions, screenings and award presentations. Some cool images from the international contest Next-Image Awards held in Russia recently. It’s the biggest contest of mobile photos and video clips made by mobile devices HUAWEI. Last year 520 000 the contest had 520 thousand participants. This year the contest was held in Russia where HUAWEI received more than 20 000 photographs taken with smartphones of the brand. The Winners of The 2020 Bird Photographer of The Year Have Been Announced
The prestigious Bird Photographer of the Year (BPOTY) competition, now in its fifth year, has released the stunning winning photos for 2020.
The contest is the work of Birds on the Brink, a charity aimed at supporting bird-related conservation projects around the world that awards small grants where they will do the most measurable good. This year’s winners were culled from more than 15,000 photos from photographers representing 60-plus countries around the world.

The National Audubon Society, which has been around for more than a century, has been set up to protect birds and the places they live throughout the Americas. Each year, the National Audubon Society allows photographers from across the United States and seven Canadian provinces to submit their best bird photographs. Created by the World Photography Organisation and sponsored by Sony, the Sony World Photography Awards has four competitions: Professional, Open, Youth and Student. It is one of the world’s largest and prestigious photography competitions, with more than 345,000 images from 203 countries and territories submitted across the four competitions for the 2020 edition. Inspired By Nature, National Parks Photography Competition 2020
The UK National Parks and Campaign for National Parks are delighted to announce the winner, runner up and shortlisted entrants for our joint photography competition underscoring the importance of nature in our national parks.
The competition, around the theme of ‘inspired by nature’, drew about 1,700 entries via social media. Outstanding wildlife shots, landscapes and portraits from across the 15 national parks in the UK blew away the judges.
The dramatic winning shot from Peter Stevens depicts a rare osprey swooping in on its prey in the Cairngorms national park.

The Hair Freezing Contest at Takhini Hot Pools started in 2011. The early years of the contest had humble beginnings, with $100 of prize money given to the best frozen hairdo and just a few dozen participants each year. Over the years, the contest gained momentum and in 2015 an image from the contest went viral. Since then, Takhini Hot Pools has increased the prize money to $750 and added several new categories.
