Rescued Dogs Dressed Up In Sophisticated Outfits, Floral Crowns To Get Adopted

1

Rascal, and her brother Petey, were abandoned as pups near the railroad tracks in Union County, Arkansas. She is a pit bull cross and approximately 6 months old, in Arkansas, United States. These canine portraits will make any dog lover’s day – and they’re helping to get sheltered pups adopted at the same time. Kind-hearted photographer Tammy Swarek came up with the idea of dressing up rescue dogs to draw attention to their stories and help potential owners personally connect with them.

Tammy, from Arkansas, drew her inspiration from Facebook after spotting another portrait project for sheltered animals. So she contacted her local dog shelter, the Union County Animal Protection Society (UCAPS) and has worked closely with shelter manager Tanja Jackson ever since. Tammy now makes headshots of every dog at UCAPS.

Precious – 🌺🐶🌺 This glamour girl is a nine year old Collie/Elk Hound mix. She was surrendered to UCAPS by her family because they could not take animals to their new location. She was loved, and her name embodies her entire personality! She has the heart of a therapy dog and that is our hope for her. She is a shining star, and the residents of a nursing home will benefit from her love and 'precious' disposition. Find out more about this beauty by contacting UCAPS! “One of the key things I wanted to showcase with dressing the dogs up is their personality. I really wanted to make them look like people, and I want somebody to see that picture and have some type of a connection with the dog that they wouldn’t ordinarily if it was shut in a cage. They get to see the animal in a different light and some of the dogs that wouldn’t have any interest at all have had a dozen applications each,” she shares.

Monnie Sue – 🐾😘🐶 This beauty was left behind, tied to a cable when her previous owner moved out of town unexpectedly. Luckily for Monnie, her neighbor saw her and took her in for a few days. An abandonment complaint was filed with the Sherrifs Department according to the neighbor. He was advised to surrender her to UCAPS if he could not keep her. She is a little shy because she doesn't know what happened, or why she is here now. It's only been a few days and she is warming up beautifully. Monnie Sue will make someone a faithful little companion. She is a Chihuahua mix and is approximately 1 year of age. Monnie's wardrobe was generously donated by NY designer Joan Marentis for Cosmik Souls Handmade Jewelry and Couture Accessories. To find out more about Monnie Sue, contact UCAPS! Baby Girl's wardrobe was generously donated by New York designer Joan Marentis Kelly for Cosmik Souls Handmade Jewelry and Couture Accessories. To find out more about Baby Girl, contact UCAPS! McKenzie – This doll and her sister were surrendered to UCAPS by Animal Control. Her sister Radar has since graduated the Paws In Prison program. McKenzie fell short one prerequisite. She was heartworm positive and the pit bull look was too prominent. McKenzie's sweet personality and butterball physique has landed her many smiles and pats on the head, but all were empty promises of a new life. No one came back for her. Wardrobe donated by NY designer Joan Marentis Kelly for Cosmik Souls.
