Amazing Photos of the Zagato Zele 1000 “Electric Car”
The Zagato Zele 1000 was an electric microcar produced from 1974 to 1976 by the Italian design house Zagato.
Unlike Zagato’s usual sleek designs, the Zele had a boxy, fiberglass body and was powered by a small electric motor with a top speed of around 30 mph. It was available in multiple colors and offered different motor power ratings (1000, 1500, 2000 watts). The car could travel up to 50 miles on a single charge, featuring six forward speeds and two reverse speeds.
