Jean De Paleologu 1

Jean de Paleologu, born in Bucharest in 1855, was a masterful Romanian poster artist, painter, and illustrator.

After honing his skills in England, he returned to Romania to attend a military academy before making several trips to London and eventually settling in Paris. In 1900, he embarked on a new adventure in the United States, where he shifted his focus to applied graphics for magazines, ads, and publicity in various industries. Paleologu’s vibrant work appeared in numerous periodicals, and he created iconic poster advertisements, especially for bicycle manufacturers, until his death in 1942 in Miami Beach. Here are some of the stunning posters he crafted in the 1890s.
