“Hundai Second Star”: Artist Duo Create Superb Futuristic Concept of the Hundai Car

Created by designers Chris Min and Hyunbeen Kye for Hyundai’s 2025 Stellar Restomod Competition, the Hyundai Second Star transforms the iconic Stellar into a contemporary vision. Instead of simply reviving retro charm, the project is anchored in storytelling—imagining the journey of a family leader who once depended on the original model and is now stepping into a new chapter of life.

According to artists: “3 weeks Team project for Hyundai Stellar Restomod Competition (2025)

In the concept stage, we developed our storytelling around the persona of the ‘head of the household’, who was once closely associated with the original Stellar. They were figures who protected and led their families at the center of domestic life. Today, as they enter midlife, they are beginning the second chapter of their journey. Based on this user context, we sought to reintroduce Stellar as a ‘Second Car for the Second Act of Life.’ As implied by the key phrase ‘Your Second Star,’ the Stellar design process began with storytelling that reflects and embodies the user’s life. In other words, beyond superficial styling, we positioned the vehicle as a lifestyle partner—one that connects the user’s past and present while accompanying them into the future.
