Issei Suma is known for his intriguing buildings, but this structure shaped like 5 tents are really eye catching, due to the harmonious flow and the design that perfectly combined minimalism with an ecological style. The building features a spiral-shaped indoor pool and a common kitchen for both ladies. This 100 square m complex is called “Jikka” and is located in the Japanese mountains Shizuoka Prefecture. This Sculptural Shelter Is A Place To Enjoy Quiet And Restful Contemplation
The London-based design studio of Giles Miller, focuses on innovative surfaces, material and sculptural works, and their latest design is named ‘Perspectives’, their first permanent sculptural architecture installation that’s an organic pavilion covered with Cedar shingles. Commission by Surrey Hills Arts and the Mittal Foundation, the installation is located along a scenic route on the Hills of Surrey, south of London. The installation was created as a place to enjoy quiet and restful contemplation, with the shingles providing shelter from the elements, and inside there are benches to enjoy the view. For more than 10,000 years, ever since man started herding cattle for food and enrichment in Africa, lions have been a huge problem. A lion, or, more likely, a pride of lionesses – who are the real hunters – can ruin a small farmer’s livelihood by killing even a single cow, especially one that is pregnant or producing milk. Thanks to Botswana’s excellent conservation policies, the country has one of Africa’s largest wild lion populations – estimated at 3,000. For poorer subsistence farmers, though, it is harder. This August 13, 2016 photo shows two portraits of Yeimi, one of her holding a weapon in uniform for the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) 48th front, and in civilian clothing at a guerrilla camp in the southern jungle of Putumayo, Colombia. Yeimi, 23, said she has spent 10 years with the FARC and would like to study systems after demobilizing as part of a peace deal with Colombia’s government. An October 2 national referendum will give voters the chance to approve the deal for ending a half-century of political violence that has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and driven millions from their homes. Buddhist Monk Makes Footprints In Wooden Floorboards Through 20 Years Of Prayer
70 year-old Buddhist monk Hua Chi has been praying in the same spot at his temple in Tongren, China for over 20 years. His footprints, which are up to 1.2 inches deep in some areas, are the result of performing his prayers up to 3000 times a day. Don’t Look Down: This Collection Of Mind-Boggling Photos Is Sure To Send You Dizzy
The impressive set of pictures were taken from the top of a 155-foot-high crane – by a Russian photographer who hoped to overcome his fear of heights. Moscow-based snapper George Lanchevsky captured the amazing aerial images while precariously perched atop the crane – with no safety equipment. Both George and his friends are shown throwing caution to the wind as take part in the impressive stunt. Other shots captured include the adventurous bunch posing in the middle of climbs up cranes and beautiful women posing on the edge of roof tops.
