These ‘Game of Thrones’ Photos From Time Magazine Are Colorful To Say The Least
Allow me to put on my curmudgeon hat for a moment, but do you ever feel like photographers shooting for big publications will sometimes go for wild off-the-wall creative concepts that seem to just fall flat? Overdrive Magazine: Voice Of The American Trucker In The 1970s
In the 1950s, American kids idolized cowboys – in the 1970s it was truckers. There was an endless supply of movies painting truckers as anti-establishment heroes of the highway (Convoy, Breaker Breaker, Smokey & the Bandit, etc.), and God-knows their tool of the trade, the CB radio, was the coolest thing ever. So, let’s have a look at the start of the Golden Age of the trucker in the covers and pages of the 1972-1973 issues Overdrive Magazine: The Voice of the American Trucker. Continue reading »
Vintage Yugoslavian Computer Magazine Cover Girls Of The 1980s-90s

It is impressive to note that at that time, mixing women and computers necessarily meant sexy secretary or incapable woman and slave of her computer. Continue reading »
“What Kind Of Men Read Playboy?” Controversial Playboy Magazine Ads From 1958-1974
At it’s height in 1972 Playboy magazine had a circulation of over 7 million copies per month and the New Yorker was reporting that almost 25% of college men were purchasing the magazine every month. Despite running the “What Kind of Men Read Playboy?” campaign for over fifteen years Hugh Hefner was still trying to persuade advertisers that men were looking at anything but the pictures. These ads weren’t so much aimed at prospective readers but prospective advertisers. Continue reading »
