Paul Brockman’s Collection Of 55,000 Dresses Bought For His Wife

1

This might look like a dress-makers warehouse, but this huge collection of frocks actually belongs to just ONE woman.

2

Margot Brockmann, 76, owns the 55,000 dresses that are worth an eye-watering $1,045,000.

3

Her devoted husband Paul, 78, bought a new dress every time they went ballroom dancing and after 56 years the collection had become too big and the couple are being forced to sell up.

4

Paul and Margot, from Lomita, California, have been keeping the dress at a 42,000 square feet warehouse but the costs have become too much.

5

German-born Paul, who has been dancing since the age of 13, said: “I met my wife on the dance floor – I always picked the girls with the prettiest dresses.

6

“The first time we danced, we danced all night. After that we got closer and from that day I started buying dresses.”

7

The colourful collection had previously been kept in six storage containers, but last year the couple moved 18,000 of the dresses to the warehouse.

8

The rest stayed in containers in the garage.
