Quiet Nights In The City: Photographer Captures Beautiful Photos Of Everyday Scenes In Large Metropolitan Cities At Night
In the photo series, French photographer Axel Corjon captures beautiful yet fairly-eerie photos of everyday scenes in large metropolitan cities in the middle of the night.
“I love shooting late at night. It’s always a special moment, it’s off time. People are mostly sleeping, making the night hours somehow unreal.”
It’s obvious Corjon appreciates shooting in the night as much as he might be frightened by it, making this project somewhat of an adrenaline rush, too.
“People are making these hours vanish, I embrace them. It’s also very disturbing to discover the streets at night. The light and colors are always changing due to artificial light sources (cars, reflection, traffic lights, etc…) and make even the most known places look different. Also, you cannot see very far, therefore you create this scary feeling where you never know what’s near you. It triggers something primal that force you to be more aware of your surroundings.”
