This Artist Makes a Living Selling Terrible Origami On Etsy

Etsy user MrImprov is testing the adage that art is what you can get away with, selling terrible origami for $50,000 or less. Below are some of his reasonably-priced creations.

Million Dollar Frog – US$50,000.00

This origami frog is the e-pity-me of style and luxury! Crafted from 100 sheets of high-quality card stock and 6 rolls of 3M Green Apple Duct Tape, this guy will make all your millionaire friends jealous!

Frog is about 4 feet long by 4 feet wide. Approximately knee high.

I taped a secret inside the frog somewhere, so it’s extra special. “Dissect” him and discover the mystery, or live boldly with the knowledge that this frog holds something special.

Truly elegant.

Bunny Snack Log – US$83.00

Cook some s’mores with this sweet log made from a fruit snack box! Actually, you could really burn it if you wanted to, but I doubt it would last as long as a real life log. Terribly made.

Volkswagen MINI – US$97.00

Honk honk! Out of the way of this sporty VW automobile folded from a MINI “Cooper” advertisement. The steering wheel is on the left for this car, so please keep that in mind. Terribly made.

Ten Thousand Dollar Frog – US$10,000.00

The design that started a revolution! This is the original prototype design for its big brother, Million Dollar Frog. What a bargain basement price for a classic design!!! About the size of 4 decks of cards. Perhaps a little bigger. DELUXURIOUS.

Cat Food Cone – US$92.00

BEEP BEEP! OUT OF THE WAY! There is some construction being done and what better thing to let people know about construction than a cone! This was folded from a piece of a cat food bag, so you can almost smell like you were hanging out with cats! How sweet! Terribly made.
