Georges De Feure 1

Georges de Feure (1868–1943) was a French artist known for his work in the Symbolist and Art Nouveau movements.

Born in Paris and raised in the Netherlands, he returned to Paris to join the bohemian art scene, drawing inspiration from writers and artists of his time. De Feure became known for his posters, illustrations, and furniture designs, gaining prominence through collaborations, particularly with art dealer Siegfried Bing. His work was featured in the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris, and he was awarded the title of Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur for his contributions to decorative arts. Today, his art can be found in collections like the Musée d’Orsay and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, cementing his legacy in the Art Nouveau movement.
