Exploring Heart and Humor in Matt Emmons’s Post-Apocalyptic Comics

Matt Emmons is a Philadelphia-based comic artist, illustrator, and the founder of Second At Best Press.

Raised in the Boston area and inspired by a diet of monster movies, fantasy novels, and childhood explorations of the natural world, Emmons’s art is known for its unique blend of monsters, robots, and surreal fantasy. His stories—both in comics and illustration—often emphasize weird, endearing creatures and apocalyptic scenarios, balancing dark atmospheres with quirky humor and heartfelt world-building.
