Beautiful Emotional Watercolor Portraits By Italian Artist Agnes Cecile

Agnes Cecile is the professional alias of Silvia Pelissero, an Italian contemporary painter and self-taught artist born in 1991. Based in Rome, she studied at the Liceo Artistico Giorgio De Chirico and first gained massive popularity through her DeviantArt portfolio and speed-painting videos on YouTube.

Pelissero is best known for her highly expressive, layered watercolor and ink portraits. Her visual style is characterized by a blend of delicate realism and chaotic abstraction, frequently utilizing heavy paint splatters, dynamic drips, and vibrant color washes to convey deep human emotion. While her primary medium is watercolor, she frequently incorporates mixed media techniques, using oil, acrylic, varnish, and charcoal to create rich, textured portrayals of intimacy, melancholy, and human connection. Her work has inspired countless emerging artists to explore the loose, natural flow of watercolor painting.
