Matthew Woodson Builds Posters That Feel Like the Second Before Everything Breaks, When the Air Has Already Changed but Nothing Has Moved Yet

Matthew Woodson aka Ghostco, is a Chicago-based illustrator with a background in natural history and psychology from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His work is defined by a cinematic, atmospheric tension—images that feel like the quiet second before something breaks.
He is perhaps best known for his limited-edition screen prints for Mondo, including posters for Daredevil, Vertigo, and 2001: A Space Odyssey. His practice is built on compressing the emotional weight of a story into a single, deliberate frame.
