Bentley has recreated the 1939 Bentley Corniche, a significant model lost during WWII, which served as the missing link between the Embiricos 4¼ Litre and the post-war R Type Continental.

Originally designed for high performance with a lightweight chassis and tuned engine, the Corniche was a collaboration between Bentley and designers like Georges Paulin, achieving over 100 mph in tests before it was lost.
The Corniche was sent to France for testing but was damaged in two separate accidents in July and August 1939. After repairs, the car’s body was destroyed during a bombing in Dieppe while awaiting shipment. Bentley’s Mulliner division recreated the 1939 Corniche using original technical drawings and components, completing the project in 2019 to celebrate Bentley’s centenary.
