English artist, designer and inventor Dominic Wilcox is at it again with a series of bizarrely creative inventions, only this time he enlisted kids for help. He set up an Inventors Project shop in Sunderland and South Tyneside, then asked over 450 children to draw their ideas for inventions. Ai Weiwei Created These Fantastical Paper Lantern-Like Sculptures Out Of Bamboo And Paper
Artist Ai Weiwei wants you to get in touch with your inner child, and he created these fantastical sculptures out of bamboo and paper to help you do it. Weiwei created these massive pieces for Le Bon Marche using kite-making techniques. The exhibit is titled, appropriately, “Er Xi” or Child’s Play, and the scenes are made up of characters from the 2,000-year old collection of tales called Shan Hai Jing, a series of stories that have been told to children for ages. Chien Chu Lee Carves Pencils Into Architectural Sculptures
Chien Chu Lee from Taiwan is a self-taught pencil carving artist who has mastered a remarkable art form. Lee has been carving pencils since October 2010, but before that he was making small figurines toys for his children using bamboo sticks. Lee considers himself to be a very patient man and possessor of a very steady hand, which is not very difficult to perceive once you look at his creations.
