Photographer Captures Abandoned Second World War Fortifications Slowly Being Reclaimed By Nature
From Britain to Denmark and France to Norway, these are among Europe’s eeriest abandoned Second World War fortifications. Among the military structures pictured are those at Widemouth Bay in Cornwall, Hayling Island in Hampshire and Studland Bay in Dorset. They were also photographed at Lamba Ness in the Shetlands, Newburgh in Aberdeenshire and Cramond Island in the Firth of Forth.

Wildlife Photographer Of The Year 2015: First Glimpse Of Finalists’ Images
Wrestling Komodo dragons, a shark-repellent surfboard and a concerned gorilla are among the images captured on camera by finalists in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2015 competition. The competition attracted over 42,000 entries from both professionals and amateurs from 96 countries.
The winning images will be announced on 13 October, and an exhibition of the 100 shortlisted and winning images opens on 16 October at the Natural History Museum in London. These 100 images will also be part of an international tour spanning six continents, allowing millions of people to marvel at the beauty and variety of the natural world.
IBTimesUK presents a first look at ten of the finalists. A full gallery of winners will be published as soon as they are announced.

These breath-taking photographs reveal the everyday lives of animals living in the wild. The incredible images were taken by wildlife photographer Wim van den Heever, from Pretoria, South Africa, during trips to locations including Japan, Botswana and Svalbard. Photographer Spends 12 Months Creating a ‘Never-Ending’ Panoramic Story
In the photography world, we’re pretty familiar with 52-week projects, although some of us have yet to ever start or complete one. Beamused Magazine wanted to encourage all artists to take up a 52-week challenge called an “endless book.” The premise is that artists create one page of their “book” per week, constructing them in such a way that one page leads to another for a seamless mega-panorama.
