“Field Of Light”: Bruce Munro Creates Fantastic Lighting Installations Across The Urban Landscapes

1

British artist Bruce Munro creates immersive light installations. These large-scale projects are inspired by his interest in shared human experience. Munro’s work takes on all sizes and covers all kinds of landscapes. He’s created both monumental and intimate instillations in deserts, ponds, gardens, fields, and even inside buildings.

His most recent project, ‘Field of Light’, was installed in Uluru, Australia. The piece was inspired by his first visit to the desert in 1992. He was fascinated by the energy, heat and brightness of the desert landscape. Field of Light is the embodiment of this experience.

“I wanted to create an illuminated field of stems that, like the dormant seed in a dry desert, would burst into bloom at dusk with gentle rhythms of light under a blazing blanket of stars” Munro says.
