Humorous and Absurdistic Vintage AI-Photographs by Beth Frey

[0

Beth Frey is a multidisciplinary artist working across drawing, painting, video, sculpture, and installation.

Known for her wry humor, she explores contradictions like the beautiful and grotesque or the innocent and perverse, often incorporating representations of herself into her vibrant, cartoon-like world. Expanding her practice, she uses AI tools and smartphone apps to build on her layered watercolors, creating a playful, surreal universe where her body becomes an active element. Frey, who splits her time between Montreal and Mexico City, has exhibited internationally and runs the viral Instagram account *Sentient Muppet Factory*, blending absurdist aesthetics with the cinematic and uncanny.
