Amazing Photos of the 1951 Studebaker Woody

Originally a four-door sedan, the 1951 Studebaker Woody stands as a dazzling tribute to American automotive creativity.

Starting its life as an unfinished project from Joe MacPherson’s collection, it was later acquired by collector Dennis Varni, who brought it to life in a completely new way. With a fastback woodie makeover envisioned by Thom Taylor, the car’s transformation includes a chopped top, extended rear fenders, custom taillights, and charming 1937 Ford headlights that lend it a distinctive character. Under the hood, a rare Ford 427 FE engine with a prototype fuel injection system adds a touch of power, while the luxurious interior, featuring tan leather bucket seats with gray fur inserts, perfectly rounds out its one-of-a-kind personality.
