A Whisper in the Eye of the Storm: Artist Duo Creates An Immersive Optical Art Installation
In the cedar forests of Omachi, Japan, *A Whisper in the Eye of the Storm* transforms 14,000 prescription lenses into a shimmering “rainstorm” of cascading optics.
Created by Canadian artists Caitlind r.c. Brown and Wayne Garrett for the Northern Alps Art Festival, this installation explores the region’s deep connection to water as a source of life and power. Visitors journey through a curtain of suspended lenses, experiencing shifting light and distortion before reaching a central bench that reframes the surrounding landscape through this mesmerizing artwork.
