Artist Olivier Menanteau Paints a World Where Human Bodies and Plants Grow Into One Another

Olivier Menanteau is a French illustrator and art director from Nantes, born in 1978. He began as a graffiti artist in 1993 before formal art school training led him into a career as a graphic designer and agency art director.

After eight years working in agencies and later teaching graphic design, Moon shifted fully into his own personal creative universe, developing an ongoing project he calls “Polychröm Symbiosis.” These works explore, in a dreamlike and surrealist style, the symbiotic relationship between humans and plants — figures whose bodies blend into flora, watercolor botanicals fused with skin and hair, evoking transformation and interconnectedness rather than separation between nature and the human form.
